How fees work

A short list of how paying works here, in the order most patients ask.

  • Insurance we work with

We send claims to many dental plans and tell you before your first visit whether we are in network. For an oral appliance, some medical plans pay when a physician has diagnosed sleep apnea. We are not enrolled with Medicaid at this time.

    • PPO dental plans: we file the claim

    • Medical plans: we check an appliance before you start

    • Medicaid: not enrolled at this time

  • If you pay yourself

If you pay without insurance, you pay at the visit, and you know the fee before we start. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

    • Pay at the visit

    • A written estimate first

    • Third-party financing, set by the lender

  • Receipts for reimbursement

After each visit we give you an itemized receipt. You can send it to a plan that reimburses you. Whether the plan pays, and how much, is its decision.

    • Itemized, every visit

    • Procedure codes on request

  • An estimate in advance

You can ask for a written estimate before any treatment. If you're paying without insurance, we give you a written estimate in advance, when you schedule or whenever you ask. It lists each step we expect and the fee for each.

    • Written, before treatment

    • Each step and its fee

    • Take it home before you decide

  • Checking your benefits

Zaria checks your dental and medical benefits before your first visit for an appliance, and tells you what she finds. For a checkup, call the number on your card and ask what your plan pays.

    • Zaria checks appliance benefits

    • Ask your plan about checkups

  • What the first visit includes

About an hour: a talk, an exam by the dentist, X-rays only if she needs them, and a written estimate before any treatment. Fill in your health history on our private patient portal, not by email or in the contact form.

    • A talk, then an exam

    • X-rays only if needed

    • Health history on the portal
